Nettleslack Cottage  Martindale  Lake District

ABOUT MARTINDALE

A totally unspoilt part of England’s Lake District. On the south side of Ullswater – second largest of the lakes, and many think the loveliest. Two beautiful valleys bounded by the lake to the north and surrounded by fells. At the end of a cul de sac from Pooley Bridge so that there is no through traffic. But easy access: only 25 minutes from junction 40 on the M6. Quiet – even in the height of summer. Interesting wildlife: red squirrels, badgers, red deer, owls, herons, kestrels, buzzards, and a rarely sighted golden eagle.

“Another perfect stay”                         “This place is heaven”

The core of Martindale is 2 parallel valleys separated by the Beda ridge, seen here looking South from Hallin Fell. Nettleslack Cottage is half way up the right side of the right hand valley.
