ABOUT THE COTTAGE
Traditional stone and slate exterior dating from 1756. Restored in 1997, with a simple and thoughtfully designed interior. Perfect for two people. Bright and airy in summer; warm and cosy in cold weather, with a powerful wood-burning stove in addition to simple electric heating. Double height living space with very comfortable sofa and armchair, eating area, and good radio/CD hi-fi. Well-appointed kitchen with electric cooker, fridge, microwave, electric kettle and toaster, sink, and ample cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery. Shower-room with spacious mains-pressure shower and plentiful hot water, basin and WC. A gallery bedroom above the kitchen and shower-room overlooks the living space; twin beds can push together for one large very comfortable double. Views directly onto fields and fells and through the bedroom roof-light to the stars. Situated on the fell side in our garden, a stone’s throw from our house, with the next house about half a mile away. The cottage has its own private terrace & piece of garden. |
